Caron loves history, biography, puzzles and a good mystery – which makes her perfectly suited to genealogy research! She has been researching her family history since a 6th grade school project got her interested.
Caron belongs to many local and regional genealogy groups as well as being a member of the Genealogical Speakers Guild and a Professional Member of the Association of Professional Genealogists. She is the Facilitator for the Chicago Region of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG). Past positions include Registrar for the Anan Harmon Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the Revolution (DAR), and Board positions at the Illinois State Genealogical Society, the Chicago Genealogical Society and CAGGNI. She taught at the Newberry Library in Chicago and has been speaking at local libraries and genealogical societies for over fifteen years with consistently excellent feedback.
Caron embraced technology early in her genealogy research, teaching herself how to use family tree software and websites on the internet. This learning was the basis for her early presentations, when others were still hesitant to use the technology resources available. She still loves sharing what she knows with others, especially new researchers!
